Cubase themes for reaper

I was hoping someone might be able to shed some light on the key differences between the two programs. Still, I use ableton's delays, reverb, compressor (for sidechaining), vinyl distortion, overdrive, and a few others. I'm going to guess that Cubase has a nice suite of plugins, whereas reaper will most likely be pretty bare-bones.įortunately, I have a handful of decent plugins and a liquid mix to cover my basic synth, EQ, and compressor needs. So what I know is that they are similar, reaper is updated a lot more frequently, reaper is A LOT cheaper, and that's about it. I don't know much about cubase other than what I've read on the forums, but it's hard to read a thread without seeing reaper pop up too.

What I would really like to try is cubase, but I've also heard reaper is similar.īasically, I just want to try something new, perhaps inspire some creativity.

I've used FL studio in the past, but I'm not a big fan. I'm running windows XP, so as much as I would love to use logic, I'm not able to do so. I've been using Ableton faithfully for years, but as time goes on I find myself using the live loop features less and less, and hating the audio routing more and more.
